Well this week so far has been great- I mentioned I was at the Miessence conference in Virginia- and I have to say I had a fantastic time. I met with amazing people and the founders Narelle, Colin and Alf are incredible. What a great organization, very impressed with the integrity behind the scenes! If I was not a writer I would so be selling that product line :)
Then I spoke at the MOPS group the day after I got back- that was fun too- a really wonderful group of ladies-
So...off to writing again, I am excited to write for the teens with Oncourse. I already write for them and love it, however this is a new column for their site geared towards health and wellness.
Speaking of wellness, I have to mention the product "Inliven" by Miessence, it is a probiotic- It is really a great product- check out http://elyorganics.com/miessence-products/15101/
You will need it after eating all that Halloween candy:)
Take Care!

Wow, this month has gone by so fast. Just when I thought I would blog weekly- a ton of projects came my way. At any rate, I am getting ready to fly out Friday to speak and do a workshop at MiOne Group North American Confenece http://www.mionegroup.com/en/conference . This should be fun, we will be staying at a green hotel! Not the color green, a beautiful eco-friendly hotel in Virginia- Then I will be speaking at a "Mops" group the day after I get back. I sure do miss the days my kids were two years old...challenging yet amazing- hard to believe my two boys are 6 and 10 years old now!!!
The boys just got a hamster "Oreo" she is sooooo cute, black and white thus her name says it all:)
Hope you all have a great week- I will share some healthy tips for the harvest season next blog-

You Deserve A Beauty by God break!
I believe everyone deserves a break! We all work so hard cooking, cleaning, carpooling, working at a career and sometimes forget ourselves- Yes we have heard that a bunch of times I know, but really we do need a bit of a break and have to sneak that time in or schedule it.
Today marks the day that I turned in my manuscript for "Beauty by God" and then it will go into print (yea, pray for no complications), finished an article, in the process of writing a one page synopsis of a keynote speech/workshop (set for a conference in Virginia (October 25) for the ONEgroup/Miessence- check their site out at http://www.mionegroup.com/en/conference ), fed the kids breakfast and about to take a test for my "Anatomy & Physiology" class- All in a matter of a few hours! Okay so everyday is not like that but today was busy...and it is just 10:30am!!
So on behalf of us all, I declare a Beauty by God break!
Here are a couple of suggestions;
- Go get a massage, if you can't pay the $75 or more, check out this site to get one at your local massage school www.amtamassage.com and pay $25!
- Get a cup (put it in your good china) of tea or coffee (or whatever beverage) of your choice, find your favorite book or magazine and sit on a the porch or quiet place in your house and just relax!
- DIY facial, pour hot water into a bowl and add a few drops of tangerine or lavender oil. Soak a hand towel in the water, ring it out and wrap your clean face- lie down for 10 minutes (this will open pores) - now your ready for a mask with french clay- the clay detoxifies the skin pulling out the dirt and other funk- or you can mix 1 avocado and 4 Tb. yogurt; spread and leave on for 30 min. Spritz with a toner or rose water.
- Watch Breakfast at Tiffany's or your favorite movie.
- Collect some flowers and place them in the bathroom, light a few candles, turn up some classical music and draw a bubble bath- follow with a luxurious body oil (go for some sesame oil and drop a few essential oils in with it like; ylang ylang, vanilla and geranium.
- Go to the book store and just browse and make a wish list of what you want, then flip through some magazines while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.
When all else fails, go to sleep one hour earlier!
What ever you do today, Make it a GREAT day!!

So I have been diligently working on articles and copy edits at this point since the completion of the DVD- Everything takes so much TIME!
Rome wasn't built in day, I know...
I did get to write a fabulous green makeup article for Natural Solutions Magazine, it is for the December 2008 issue- be sure to check it out http://www.naturalsolutionsmagazine.com/
Now that school is back in session and packing the kids lunches, I thought I would take the time to share a couple of BBG Green tips on what and where to buy safe supplies.
We have heard how bad PVC and leads etc. are and need to be more self and planet concious in our consumer choices.
Here are a few ideas-
Lunch boxes- BuiltNY (http://www.builtny.com/), Mimi the Sardine (http://www.mimithesardine.com/ ), SafeMama (http://www.safemama.com/) and Laptop lunch boxes (http://www.laptoplunches.com/)
Sandwich wrap alternatives- Natural value found at health food store is a unbleached natural waxed paper bag that will not contiaminate ground water and is non-toxic when incinerated- best bet is a wrap-n-mat (http://www.wrap-n-mat.com/) that doubles as a placemat and sandwhich wrap- machine washable.
Back Packs - Eco-gear http://www.ecogear-products.com/
School supplies- Target has recycled note pads and pens or http://www.redapplesupply.com/.
Waterbottles- Mysiggs ($17.99)found at Whole Foods or online ( a bit pricey but well worth it) KleenKanteen (http://www.kleenkanteen.com/ )and camelbak ($11.99) (http://www.camelbak.com/) you can find it at Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting store and is BPA free.
You will feel confident knowing you and your kids are making a difference in our world with safer choices and in return better health!
Be Well!

Life will be different tomorrow as my kids get out of school- and I will be going back to homeschooling in August- they have been in a private school for the last six months while I was finishing up my book- I felt I was not giving them my all and new it was the best thing for the boys- (they are 6 & 9)- Plus I am in school too- earning my degree as a Master Herbalist (I already have a certificates in Herbal study) and a PhD in Natural Medicine somewhere in 2011- a way to go but I am moving along snail steady...
Oh, before I forget let me leave you with some tips how to stay beautiful with the HOT summer days ahead-
Find a no-melt foundation like Jane Iredale pressed mineral foundation- it's great really- I use it and love it- a less expensive one- Physician formula- the organic one, also 100percentpure.com has vegan makeup made out of fruit and veggies- really they do and its great- she is also on QVC-
Choose a chemical free sun screen like Burt's Bees or Alba Botanica Organic Lavender Sunscreen.
Use Frownies for wrinkles- they do work- and they are way cheaper than Botox.
Start taking organic alfalfa supplements- one of the best anti-agers!
Eat more cucumbers- try some Cucumber bruschetta, combine 1 whole avocado chopped, 1tbs cilantro (fresh), 1tbs diced red onion (or vidalia yellow), 1tbs fresh lime juice and olive oil or flax seed oil- season with celtic sea salt, pepper and garlic powder.Combine mixture on a diagonally sliced seedless English cucumber and serve with a sprig of parsley- cool, refreshing and tastefully healthy- enjoy!!!
That's it for now- hope you like my first blog:)
