I.R.S (I really Save) Beauty Solution

Hi Ladies,
It sure feels good to be back again! I have been traveling a bit and enjoying time well spent with my family!
As a quick update I have been to New York a couple of times, Atlanta and South Carolina. Here are a couple of clips from the show I did, http://www.better.tv/videos/m/21946900/makeup-shelf-life.htm#q=shelf+life (this was Better TV in NY) and this was Atlanta CBS http://www.cbsatlanta.com/video/18831417/index.html.

This month will be fun and my family gets to join me while I travel to South Carolina for Channel 49 and my husband will be singing on the show while I am interviewed for my book. Then onto Atlanta! I will be a guest again on the "Everyday with Marcus & Lisa" show--I love them! Last stop Nash-Vegas...where we will be for GMA and CBS local news station--I will be talking about Springtime Beauty...

Speaking of Beauty---here goes the I.R.S solution and you don't need an accountant for this one!

This is what you need when you stayed up too late meeting the Tax deadline:)

De-puff
Mix together ¼ cucumber (puree) and 1 ounce of aloe vera gel---incredible de-puffer –it will keep In the fridge for a few days.
This won’t cost you a cent to look more rested (helps to de-puff under eye area)…before you rise out of bed, place a pillow under your head (elevated) for 15 min ( during that time go over your schedule, meditate or relax).

To tighten skin, apply whipped egg whites to your face with a fan brush, leave on for 20 minutes to see results.

Exfoliate your skin with 1 T applesauce and 1 T of wheatgerm add together and make a paste—apply and leave on for 10-15 min.

Lighten up those dark patches with ½ cup mint (fresh) water (brewed and strained) to ½ cup of lemon (squeezed) apply to dark areas like elbows or knees and let dry, repeat 3-5 times.

(When you have seen the bill from your accountant--a stress breakout)
Clear up Skin with 1 T yogurt and 1 T honey, mix-apply and leave on for 15 min.

Stimulate your hair and scalp with a rosemary water, take a few stems of loaded rosemary and add to 4 cups of spring water, boil for 2-4 minutes then strain, reserve the cooled liquid for your container and use as a final rinse for your hair routine---The results will be shinier more youthful hair.

(When the big guys are calling- telling you...you owe $$ and your scratching your head, Why?? knowing you did not make that much)
Itchy scalp? Resolve it by keeping apple cider vinegar (organic) in a squirt bottle—in your shower, after you rinsed your hair with rosemary water—squirt some vinegar on your scalp.

Beautiful hands and feet—quick and easy soft skin made simple by applying un-petroleum jelly to rough dry hands and feet before bed (cover with gloves and socks) then wake up to soft supple skin! Another one to try is simply using organic coconut oil.

DIY Highlights
1 T of Chamomile tea into 1 C of purified water strain and cool
2 lemons (squeezed)
Pour into spray bottle—leave on hair and sit in the sun for 15 min (sunscreen on your face) but even without any sun—you will still see a difference.

Hair Mask
¼ c coconut oil
3-4 drops of Rosemary essential oil
Leave on for 20 min. then rinse.

Alternative to Botox
Frownies—price is anywhere from 14.95 (drugstore.com) or 19.95 at WholeFoods—the results are amazing—they retrain the muscles around the eye, forehead and mouth area.

(This is where you frown because you just realized you will not be getting money back--but fear not--this is in your budget!)
If Frownies is not in your budget, you can use scotch tape, the kind that you would wrap a present in—use on the wrinkles, let it stay for four hours—

Another use for tape is…wrap a piece of tape around your finger, sticky side up—pat on dry flakes of skin around the chin, nose or forehead—it is a quick way to eliminate them when your in a pinch.

On a serious note...I know these tips will help the mirror reflection, however you need to remember that you are beautiful inside and out.
God wants us to accept ourselves just as we are. He loves us and our imperfections. He wants us to be beautiful without the vanity.
You are highly valued, needed and made on purpose for a purpose!

Hugs,
Shelly

BBG-Girl’s Spa-Tea for one…

Set the music with a classical flare and fill the air with essential oils such as lavender or refreshing tangerine---a combo blend can be by Jurlique (Wise-Woman blend) or make your own.

The following ingredients will rebuild skin collagen, improve tone and texture, and fade age spots. Packed with vitamins, minerals and nutrients that will “feed” your skin.
· ½ avocado, mashed
· ½ carrot, cooked and mashed
· 1/4 cup heavy cream
· 1 small egg, beaten
· 3 tablespoons honey
Combine all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Spread gently (I use a foundation or fan brush) over your face and neck, and leave in place 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and follow with your favorite toner.
While skin is warm and damp—take a few drops of honey and press into skin, believe me it is not sticky at all and you will love how your skin feels after it dries.
DIY Toner
Brew some green tea (with spring water) keep one cup for your tea-4-one (serve with fresh mint) ---and the other cup-allow to cool and store in an airtight spray container. Keep in the fridge and spray when you need a refreshing blast of energy.

Good for one— Almond-Veggie Tea sandwich

2 slices Ezekiel or Millet bread crusts removed
1 tablespoon raw almond butter
5 cherry tomatoes
4 3 inch length (thinly sliced) cucumber
1/4 cup sprouts, tightly packed

Cut each slice of bread into quarters and then divide spread on almond butter. Slice cherry tomatoes thinly. Peel cucumber; then use a vegetable peeler or mandolin to slice it lengthwise into long, wide, very thin strips place on top of tomatoes. Pile the sprouts on, top finger sandwiches with remaining bread quarters, and you have a “spa-tea” party for one.

Top the- me-myself and I party with a healthy dessert…

Peach-berry smoothie

1 ½ cups enriched vanilla unsweetened Almond milk
2 cups fresh peaches
1 cup fresh blackberries

5 ice cubes of vanilla almond milk (ice the milk in a tray the day before)
2 tablespoons raw almond butter
2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar

Place smoothie in a sundae glass, serve it up with a sprig of mint…

End with a devotional and be grateful for everyday—each day is a gift.

Blessings & Hugs,

~Shelly
